YOU DON’T HAVE TO BUY CHICKEN ANYMORE.
I think 90ish Percent of you reading this could ABSOLUTELY raise your own meat chickens, and many of you could raise enough to stop buying chicken form the grocery store.
For the last decade my family has not needed to purchase meat from the supermarket.
Between hunting, fishing, and farming, we are able to provide 100% of our families meat for ourselves.
I know that isn’t possible for many of you reading this, because of limits in lifestyle, budget, health, access to land, etc.
BUT I truly believe that almost EVERYONE reading this could raise their own meat chickens, and many could scale up over a few years time like we did to raise ALL your chicken for your family.
Meat chickens require very little land, not much fancy infrastructure, live for only a few weeks and during that time require very little time, and they can yield incredible amounts of meat!
Plus, although fancy automatic pluckers and scalders help speed up the process, you really can butcher an entire chicken with a knife, pot of hot water, and some elbow grease.

Now, for those of you who are worried about land access… “AUST I DON’T HAVE LAND SO I CAN’T RAISE MY OWN MEAT BIRDS…”
My buddy John Suscovich didn’t have any land either, and he wanted to start a FARM!
In a Pioneer’s Only version of the Podcast he shared some advice with us about how to get past the land access problem as an aspiring (yet broke) farmer…
“Beating the pavement, spending long hours, putting some gas money in… and Brush your teeth everyday because you’ll do a lot of smiling”.
Basically he would find large tracts of land near him, google the land till he found who owned it, and pitch them his farm dream and how operating it own their land would be good for THEM…
THat’s right… He designed a mobile chicken farm that would IMPROVE people’s land, get them some free chicken in the freezer and sometimes even save them in tax dollars, thus BENEFITING THEM with ZERO WORK on the owners part!
Once he got approval to farm on some nice land he didn’t own for FREE, he built his mobile chicken tractors and moved onto the land and raised meat chickens for himself and his local community!
Nothing was going to stop John from his farm dreams, and nothing need stop you!
