SPECIAL SHOW TONIGHT ALL ABOUT CAMEL MILK… (REALLY I PROMISE!)
But first…
If you are still a little confused… you are not alone.
“Wait… You got camels? How did I miss that?”
“Why did you get camels without trying the milk first?”
“You can order camel milk online, so why did you buy a camel?”
These questions have been circulating our world lately. Comments on the channel, emails from podcast listeners, our friends are even asking us these questions (over skype of course because social distancing right?) If you want the full story watch our latest podcast.

New animals (I know, again, we have a problem) are coming on the homestead soon. TO be ready for them I need to setup a watering system in our field. This is a challenge because there is no water source up in the field, and it is higher in elevation than our barn and well, so wee needed a portable system that we could gravity feed animals wit. I came up with an idea back in the spring, and finally this week i put it all together and test it out.
I tested a lot of new ideas out this week. With so many people home worried about this virus going around, I tried to think of ways we could ALL grow more food for ourselves, and one idea that came to mind, filled a hole in our own preparedness, and hopefully can help fill a hole in your preps, was sprouts! I decided to test out a new sprouting system with my daughter.
The idea of the sprouting was to help our family grow the greens for our diet that we need if we were not able to go out to the super market because of the virus spreading, (or any other disaster for that matter, most disasters that could happen to us would require us to bug in, and there is a commonality in disasters so if you are prepared for 1 you are prepared for a lot of different ones. )
We like being able to grow from home the food our family eats no matter what happens. That is why we bough a camel instead of ordering the milk online. We want to have the food growing from our own home. So you can imagine my frustration when I went to milk my camel this week and found she didn’t want to be milked….
Fortunately that milk blockade ended and feeling like we had worked through a rough spot with our camel I got a little cocky and decided to try to milk her alone.
This week I got asked a great question on the channel, about starting a homestead by buying an RV and living debt free vs getting a loan for a house and land. What would you pick, RV on land Debt Free or get a loan and live on more acreage with a house? You may be surprised by my answer…
Finally this week I wanted to remind our audience that this pandemic will end, and I encouraged the audience to do something to get your family better prepared, because while this one will end, there will always be something else that will go wrong, and when we are prepared we don’t need to feel scared!
