We are Selling Cattle...

These are all incredible animals, we would be happy to keep them all. However, We have some big life changes happening at Homesteady, and we have decided to sell some of our livestock. Learn who is for sale, and how to purchase if you are interested! 

Honeybee (sold pending pickup)

Honeybee is a dream family milk cow. She's gentle and friendly. Halter broke. Doesn't kick at all during milking. Standing at 42", she's calved with two heifers and was a great mom and milker at the same time. She would give us about two gallons milking once a day while feeding her calf. DOB 9/29/19, Registered with IMCBR. Negative on 4/29/23 for BLV, BVD and Johnes. a2/a2. She's due with her third calf this winter (bred to Brig), she'll be able to be sold in milk with the calf. The price will change depending on whether is a bull or heifer calf.

Bumblebee (sold pending pickup)

Bumblebee is my dream mini jersey. Currently in milk and included is her bull calf. She's the cow I've been working to breed. Beautiful udder and good feet. DOB 11/29/2021. She is approximately 41 inches ( I need to remeasure when the weather is better.) She's the smallest cow I've ever had. She has had two tiny calves (one born just this October, a beautiful, 21" bull calf). She's a good mother and milker. She will give about 2 gallons of milk, milked once daily with a calf on. Halter broke. Very gentle, no kicking. She's a little shy, but is friendly when she gets to know you and very food motivated. She's a small cow who has had small calves. A really nice addition to any herd. Negative on 4/29/23 for BLV, BVD, and Johnes. a2/a2.

Brig (sold pending pickup)

Brig is a gentle, calm bull. DOB 12/11/21. He's A1/A2 and short! I need to remeasure him again, but he's approximately 40-41". Once the snow melts, I'll measure him again. He's respectful of fences and we keep him with the herd all year round, because he's very gentle with the calves. He's proven to throw small, colorful calfs. All his calves have been fawn and white. Easy to lead and comes when he's called. Very food motivated.

Luna (sold pending pickup)

Special Conditions

Luna is no spring chicken anymore! DOB 11/2/17 and she's starting to show her age. She walks slowly and has a tendency to get fat with too much feed. She just had a beautiful bull calf a week ago and she's a wonderful mother. She is a2/a2. She just needs to go to a home where it's easy for her to get around and she gets to be the boss cow. So she could be added on to any of the other cows for sale as a package deal, so they'll each have a buddy. Or she could go with Brig the bull for a nice starter package. She's a wonderful, super friendly cow. She would even be great in a petting zoo type setup, as long as she's not fed too much :). All cows are located in Western PA. Buyer will be responsible for arranging cows transport from our farm in PA.
