LIVE SHOW TONIGHT… ALL ABOUT THE ECONOMY AND HOW TO PROSPER IN THE HARD DAYS AHEAD… But First
Recent events on our homestead have pushed us into doing something we have wanted to do for years…
Build a homestead butcher shop.
This is not some big expensive fancy butcher facility.
This is a simple place to take animals raised on our homestead and turn them into amazing table fare for our family, safely.
Last week I interviewed Jamie Waldron all about what you need to butcher animals on the homestead.
Jamie was the perfect guy to interview for this question, because Jamie is a roaming butcher.
He doesn’t have a butcher shop that he works out of, so he has to fit his own butcher facility in his car.
All of his tools are “Must Haves” and in this interview he shared the “Must Haves” and also the “Luxuries”.
Some of his must haves that I went out and purchased after talking…

This minimal list can literally have you butchering anything, from chicken to cow. If you want to upgrade your butcher space into an area that you can properly store and age meat, like beef, lamb or venison, I suggest adding a CoolBot to the list!
The CoolBot is a tiny little robot that turns any window ac unit into a commercial freezer, and by heavily insulating a room, you can turn any space into a walk in freezer!
We had an old root cellar on the property that wasn’t being used for anything. Will the help of the CoolBot and a LG window air conditioner we were able to convert the root cellar into a meat locker and butcher shop.
The CoolBot’s job is to trick your AC unit into super cooling a room down. Traditionally AC units have a thermostat that shuts off the AC at 60 degrees or higher.
To hang and age meat, a room need’s to be under 40 degrees.
Until the Coolbot existed people needed to buy expensive commercial freezer units to get a room cold enough to hang meat. Now the CoolBot is allowing farmers, hunter, and homesteaders to build themselves a professional grade cold storage area for a fraction of the cost!

Having this butcher shop on the homestead is HUGE! It means that now ALL our meat can be raised pasture to plate without EVER leaving our Homestead!
Right now we are raising a record number of livestock for us, we have pigs, sheep, meat and egg laying chickens, ducks, rabbits, cows, and of course the camels.
For the first time ever we are able to process ALL of these animals on the homestead (except the camels… we mentioned in THIS video why we will never butcher those for meat…).
I like knowing that we have food security in the days ahead. After experiencing the COVID Pandemic and the food system pressure that went along with it, it is nice to know we have all the meat that our family needs growing right here, and the ability to process it without leaving the farm. Should Covid mayhem spike again in the fall (and by that I mean the problems associated with the pandemic, not just the disease itself) we will be able to keep feeding our family through whatever the pandemic brings.
Now food is very important, but food is not the only thing we are interested in shoring up in the days ahead.
The pandemic caused lots of problems with people’s health, and socially. It also caused a severe economic problem, and many are wondering what that will mean in the days ahead, if the pandemic mayhem continues, or even if it doesn’t.
That is why tonight we are going to be interviewing John Pugliano, of the Wealthsteading Podcast, on the Homesteady Pioneer’s Live from the Barn Show. John has over 30 years investing experience, he’s an entrepreneur, author, inventor and the founder and money manager of Investable Wealth LLC. John’s Podcast, the Wealthsteading Podcast, takes a homesteader like, holistic look at the market, and ways we can grow and preserve our wealth.
John is coming on the show tonight to discuss Covid’s impact on the market in the days ahead. We will discuss how it could effect you and me financially in the next 6 months, but more importantly, how we should structure our lives and homesteads to be ready to adapt to the changes Covid will bring to our lives LONG TERM.
Homesteady Pioneers can join me LIVE for that interview.
Just click here —> Homesteady Live from the Barn Show at 5 PM eastern time today.
(We have switcher our Live Shows to Tuesday Nights, but John’s Interview was scheduled before we made the switch to Tuesday, so I hope you can still join us!)
