WE have been waiting almost a year to tell you the good news in today’s video!
Almost a year ago, on March 28, we accepted an offer on our Homestead in CT, and began the long and slow process of moving a family and farm to PA.
The idea was to move to K’s Parents home. The home K grew up in. 32 Years ago K’s Dad built that house. From the excavation of the foundation to the roof on top he built it himself with a small crew. It was so much work.
K’s Mom said they would never build another house again… All the time, planning, work, mess… Building your future home is a huge undertaking, and with their family farmhouse completed, She felt that beautiful home was all she would ever need, and never again would they jump into the huge project of building their own home.
But that changed when they decided they wanted to have us move onto the family farm! Work began on their new house in the spring of 2018. A record wet year slowed construction, and as usually the case when building a home, it took longer than expected.
We knew there would be some time at the PA Family Farm that we would need to wait on moving into the big house. So we decided to build a small apartment space in an already existing apartment. The idea was to make the upstairs 1000 square foot space above a pole barn a temporary apartment, to be converted to a guest space and studio when we leave. And so we moved into that space back in June of 2018.
It was a nice space, and worked for us, but we are thrilled to announce that this week K’s family moved into the new house they are building, a little bit before it was completed too. Knowing we will be having a baby in May, they decided to rush into the new home so we could be all settled before baby number 5 shows up!
We are so thankful to them for that! This week the handover of the PA Family Farmhouse happened! It is finally ours! And now begins the process of moving… FOR THE LAST TIME!

Congratulations! Very happy for you and your family. Liked the idea of having you in CT, but you’re still a click away.
